GPS AntiTheft - Immobilizer
Why offer an immobilizer function in antitheft systems?
Many antitheft systems offer users the possibility to interrupt the starter of their vehicle. This allows users to prevent the vehicle from starting, even with the original keys in the ignition.
We also offered this function in the past, however we removed it from our product range for various reasons.
Why NOT to offer an immobilizer function in antitheft systems?
Here are the three main reasons for not installing an immobilizer anymore:
- A professional car thief also knows that when a stolen vehicle suddenly doesn't start anymore, it is likely to contain a GPS antitheft system. He might therefore immediately start looking for it in order to remove it, which is likely to result in doing considerable damage to your vehicle. In the event that the device is found in this case, your vehicle is no longer traceable.
- GlobeSpot is the official supplier of various car manufacturers. They oppose cutting into original wiring in order to install the immobilizer. This because it can have an effect on the warranty of your vehicle.
- Up to now GlobeSpot has a 100% hitrate: all stolen vehicles equipped with our system, have been recovered. Often with flattering media attention as a result of our success. NONE of these vehicles had an immobilizer installed.
